Are you ready to make a difference in the field of Amyloidosis and Heart Failure? AstraZeneca is seeking a dynamic Medical Science Liaison to join our team and drive scientific exchange and evidence generation. As a regional expert, you'll engage with healthcare professionals, support clinical trials, identify research opportunities, and translate insights into impactful medical strategies. This field-based role within Medical Affairs operates in a strictly non-promotional capacity, offering you the chance to contribute to groundbreaking advancements in patient care.

Accountabilities:

  • Review emerging data with Healthcare Professionals (HCPs), discussing benefits and risks in a scientific, objective, and unbiased manner.
  • Interact with HCPs as scientific consultants to engage in activities aligned with corporate projects such as advisory boards, speaker programs, and clinical trials.
  • Identify HCPs with the expertise to collaborate on innovative basic and pre-clinical research identified in our target planning.
  • Stay informed and provide AstraZeneca with insights into regional HCPs, their practices, and key issues and trends in disease treatment.
  • Act as a regional subject matter expert in the lifecycle management of products across various therapeutic areas.
  • Uncover research opportunities with HCPs and connect these opportunities to the Medical Advisor as part of the Externally Sponsored Research (ESR) process.
  • Support key clinical trial sites by providing expert scientific expertise on the molecule being investigated during site initiation or shortly thereafter.
  • Collaborate with clinical operations groups to ensure successful recruitment of clinical sites.

Essential Skills/Experience:

  • Ability to effectively synthesize and communicate scientific information at a peer level with healthcare professionals.
  • Previous experience as a healthcare professional (PharmD, MD) or one with scientific expertise including PhD or MSc, or 5+ years of MSL experience.
  • 5+ years experience in the pharmaceutical industry in a physician-facing role with a deep understanding of the healthcare environment regarding Opinion Leaders, Academia, and the Medical Community.
  • At least 2 years of experience working in Cardiovascular and/or Neurology with established HCP relationships.
  • Demonstrated experience in the rare disease sector, with a proven ability to collaborate effectively within key account structures and processes.
  • Excellent ability to learn and capacity for scientific concepts and knowledge.
  • Well-organized and a self-starter with strong communication and business skills.
  • Ability to positively impact and influence others, quickly establishing credibility while building strong business relationships.
  • Willingness to travel frequently within your territory and possession of a valid driver's license (a valid driver abstract requested at time of acceptance).
